You've heard of "Christmas creep"? (Chaos sure has. He works retail, and every year the Christmas decorations come out earlier and earlier.)

Now, I'm seeing Halloween earlier and earlier. This weekend, I thought I saw Christmas lights up on someone's balcony on Building 5. Nope: a string of pumpkin lights.

They probably have their Halloween tree up, decorated with mini skeletons and witches and pumpkins and so on.

As I typed this, Sumomo got her own fright: feeling a little ignored, she hopped up on my desk and poked me in the shoulder. I responded by giving her a little more attention than she desired by picking her up and holding her. Sumomo likes attention, just not THAT much attention.

A friend and former co-worker of mine, Lydia, is getting a replacement for her late companion, Emma, a domestic shorthair who passed away this summer at the ripe old (for a cat) age of 16. Did I say "a replacement"? Try THREE. They're also going to be big, as they're all Maine Coon cats - the one male is projected to hit 20 pounds, minimum (and that's at full fighting trim, without an ounce of penalty weight). They'll be ready to head to their forever home in a few more weeks. The female has especially gorgeous colours and the "lynx-tip" ears that so many Maine Coons have.

No its still a Christmas Creep here. In Wayne county, we have the festival of lights which is a Christmas light show where they close down Hines Drive and you pay five bucks to drive down it and see this show of lights. Well, the entrance to it is right by my house, and a week ago I saw they were already setting it up >.< Earlier and earlier...

But I've been seeing Halloween decorations since September, I'm afraid.

I like Halloween creep, since it's my fave holiday. I despise Christmas creep because it really ruins shopping for me. If xmas has been forced down my throat for 2+ months, the last thing I want to see is more of it while I actually do my shopping. UGH! I saw a tv ad for Celtic Woman Christmas. I now refuse to buy that cd (even though I love CW) because they're marketing waaaay too early.
