In Memorium
Mar. 1st, 2006 12:05 amI called Wilf on Sunday night and learned the sad news: His cat Elsa, named for the lioness in Born Free, passed away this weekend at the ripe old age of 17. The vet says that basically she died of old age, her systems shutting down on her.
Wilf's really broken up about this, mostly because this feline was his last living link both to his mother and his father (they got the cat as a companion to his father, who was fairly house-bound at the time). He finally has to deal with his parents' passing, something he's avoided doing.
His other cat Joy (named after the author of Born Free, Joy Adamson) misses Elsa terribly, and has begun to behave much as Sumomo does with me: hanging close by Wilf, sleeping with him on his bed, insisting on following him into the lavatory and his computer room.
