Going stir-crazy
Jun. 12th, 2006 11:12 pmTomorrow night's dinner: Chicken Hawaiian - another experiment, from Light & Easy for Two. (That means Wednesday night's dinner will be the same, as it is kind of hard to make dinner-for-one from the typical package of any kind of meat.) I also want to bake up another batch of muffins, but it'll have to wait for tomorrow night: I ran out of butter for the muffins.
If I get the job this week, Friday's dinner will be a celebratory Rock Cornish hen, complete with starter soup, stuffing and a bottle of red wine. If not, I'm looking at pork stir-fry with Japanese dumplings, chased down with green tea.
I've been spending the past weekend going through the kitchen cupboards looking for stuff I haven't used for awhile, trying to clean out stuff I'll never need. Some of this "stuff" came in care packages from my sister, and frankly is more suitable to large families than for singles. Example: Pot roast seasonings, just add three to four pounds of meat (!!) & lots of veggies and put into enclosed bag (for easy cleanup). I might try that one out for the next gathering, or when Phil & Mel visit.
I tried working on PostreSQL today, and I think I'm missing an RPM. There should be a number of programs in one particular directory, and they aren't there. Back to the manual to double-check.
Just when I think they've come out with the smallest possible Linux distribution, someone comes up with one that'll fit on a 3 1/2 inch floppy. Useful if all you've got is a 386, I suppose. At this rate, I'm expecting a Timex Sinclair port any day now... ^_^
