Interview update
Jun. 13th, 2006 06:04 pmIt went well today:
- The first interview was with an accounting temp firm, up at Steeles and Dufferin. They don't have anything at this moment in time, but new jobs come in regularly and it's always possible to have one come in within 24 hours.
- The second one: at King and Spadina, literally the other side of the park from where I'd been working. They HAVE a job I'd be perfect for... if I were interested in moving to Edmonton. They're digging deep to find something for me. This one is into I.T. rather than accounting, and when they saw "J.D. Edwards conversion" and "accounting knowledge" on the same resume, they salivated - there are lots of jobs for that combination.
- The third one: Tomorrow. When I got home, I had a phone call before I had a chance to hang up my suit. They wanted to advance it to 2:30 ("because it's kind of hectic here"), no problem on my end. Apparently my references were on the "glowing" side, which is nice of them.
Keep your fingers crossed.
Coming downtown from the first interview, I was startled to discover how much Yonge from Steeles to Finch was Little Korea. Or is it Seoul Town? (Boogie down!) I'd thought Toronto's Little Korea was off in the west side of the Bloor subway line.
