I hate bomb threats
Oct. 10th, 2006 09:52 pmI was delayed on the way home tonight because they were forced to close Chester subway station while the bomb squad did a sweep of the place. They turned the trains around at Broadview on the west side and Woodbine on the east, running shuttle buses until they got the all-clear.
I decided to avoid the mob and go to the Swiss Chalet closest to Sherbourne Station for din-din, and by the time I got back to the subway Chester was re-opened and the trains were able to run right through, and most (but by no means all) of the crowds had made it through.
And it was 7:30. I got off at Main (again, thank God for transit passes) and picked up some new fuses (one blew last night), rejoined the crowd, and got home about 8:20.

And Wilf is really sick: he has
(1) a brand-new baby hernia
(2) a sinus infection; and
(3) bronchial pneumonia.
He also has horse-pills to attack the sinus infection and pneumonia and strict "do not cough" instructions (so as to not aggravate the hernia) from his doctor. This does not amuse him, as he's still wondering how he's supposed to not cough - fortunately it does seem to amuse his doctor.
