So the wave pool trip was great. At least 120 (final count not in yet); tons of rugrats (with two of the women present being with child, so that number should go up in about another four or five months); about even male/female ratio with the adults; a nice warm therapy pool (ooo BOY was the regular pool cold after relaxing in the warm pool!), and nice big (but not too big) waves. And a nice slide, bigger and faster than the one at the Doubletree.

By the way, Phil would have loved the pool as the anklebiters all came equipped with ... pool noodles. For some reason, get him in a pool full of kids, and he becomes their happy target of preference. ^_^

As I was swimming away, at the start of the night, I heard a klaxon sound twice, with red alarm lights. I didn't know what to expect but I should have - "Oh, right, there are no WAVES in the pool at the moment, and this is a WAVE pool!" I realized as the swells started.

When I was going back to the wave pool from the warm pool, I was walking down the stairs into the (splash) WAVE pool and discovering (splash) THAT IT can get quite cold as the water (splash) WASHES around your legs and lower torso. Brrr.

I never did get to try out the (quite popular) sauna. No room. An older friend of mine, Jan, went over and didn't have a problem - "The gents always make way for a lady!" she gleefully reported. Chivalry ain't dead - merely on life support, and manages to rouse itself on occasion. ^_^

And now, the one downside to many of the older pools: every thing I had with me reeks of chlorine, my jeans and shirt too, even though they got nowhere near the pool water. Fortunately tomorrow I'm doing laundry.

Cute thing seen at the wave pool: hanging from the ceiling, a cartoony sculpture of a shark, wearing swim goggles and snorkel.
