Anybody else getting this?
Dec. 6th, 2007 06:11 pmI've been getting tons of messages purporting to come from Hotmail users. Tons of them. Seventeen today, another seventeen or more yesterday. It started early this week with a half-dozen.
They all say the same thing:
"hi there" (Innocuous so far, except there will be about a half dozen, then a real message from someone I know, then another four or eight, and so on)
"what is favourite group?i hope not ace of base?" (What this robot has against Ace of Base, I really don't know. Or what it has against capital letters, although that's a refreshing change from the nimrods who HAVE TO TYPE EVERYTHING IN BLOCK CAPITALS.)
Then there's an ad that looks like it's added by Hotmail, with a link to either Microsoft (if for Vista), or for Windows Live, or some such. It might not be, but that's all there is to this missive.
