Yes, you don't know Jack. Fortunately.

Jack Thompson, that is, Florida lawyer who has sat out on that sunny state's beaches far too long baking his brains (all together now, "Mad Dogs and Englishmen/Go Out in the Midday Sun"). He's the right royal nutbar out to rid the world of evil violent video games and "other" porn. He's also claimed that there are vast conspiracies involving various and sundry individuals. He has a remarkable tendency to file tons of truly bizarre pleadings before many, many truly unfortunate judges.

The Supreme Court of Florida has finally had enough of his antics, and has asked him to "show cause" why he shouldn't be slapped with a Vexatious Litigant label and be forbidden from filing any more of his crap without another lawyer's John Hancock on the document.

His response to the press:
"This is the single greatest gift that any court has ever given me in my 31 years of practicing law. I shall now, through a new federal lawsuit, deconstruct The Florida Bar…

Thank you, Supremes! You have given me the weapons I need.

Ooookay...

His response to the court includes the following immortal paragraph:
This court has threatened Thompson. He does not threaten back. He hereby informs this court that he will see it in federal court. This court has just thrown Brer Rabbit into the briar patch.
Thank you so very, very much.

Let's hear what fellow members of the Florida Bar (sane members of the Florida Bar) have to say about that:
Now we received this.....remarkable document. "Remarkable" is truly the only word for this pleading. Let us just say this: no matter how hard we fight in court for clients, there comes a time when even we cut our losses. Not so Mr. Thompson. He has taken the Florida Supreme Court's Rule to Show Cause and quite literally torn in up and tossed the pieces in their faces.

We would never have been so..... brave (we recognize other adjectives may well apply here.) Our copy of the pleading came e-mailed with a picture of a rabbit in a briar patch. One can only wonder if the original pleading was similarly adorned
