Sad, happy day
Mar. 14th, 2008 11:00 pmThis has been a positively schizophrenic day:
On the good side of the ledger, I managed to find almost a thousand bucks for a poor pensioner. Cost him $40, which is a more than decent trade.
Also on the good side of the ledger, Saturday is a swim night up in Newmarket. I've got the rental car reserved.
On the not-so-good side of the ledger, a friend passed away. J. Woodward "Woody" Smith was a long-time acquaintance who lived with his SO, George, in this building. They were retired and enjoying life, going on lots of cruises to the Caribbean, Mexico and other places. He was friendly and happy, and loved a good laugh. Yesterday the two of them were on the subway together when he had a heart attack. He was just 60 years old.
