Mar. 16th, 2008 06:27 pm1) Sumomo song book
Sumomo has a rather strange purr. (Few of you have heard it, when more than one person at a time comes over, she goes rangy-bat-shit.) This purr is yet to be interpreted, but it is best described as a cross between a rusty hinge and one of those squeaky toys particularly sadistic uncles [looks skyward innocently] buy their toddler nieces and nephews, knowing the inevitable overuse the parents of said toddler will be unavoidable aural witness to.
Fortunately Squeaky Toy Sumomo only comes out with this in extremely rare single-syllable doses.
2) Last night's swim was great. I had to lease a car to get there, but it was definitely worth it. I think there were some 40 people there.
The Aquacentre, someone realized last night, was actually formerly a single-pad ice arena. The only stands would have been at the one end of the rink. The overhead door leading to the Zamboni garage is still there. They just cut two holes in the concrete pad and started digging to get themselves a swimming facility with two pools.
When I got there and put my bag down, the three cats that call the Aquacentre home were all over it like it was their new best friend. They must have smelled Sumomo.
And Anna: the three black cats at the Aquacentre there send their birthday wishes. Sumomo would too, if she wasn't such a clueless ditz.
3) Groceries: Seeing as I had the car anyway, I went down and made sure all the bulk goods were stocked up on. The lineups, though, were incredible. Can anyone tell me why everyone decided to stock up on groceries at the same time?
