The Toronto Transit Commission's largest union is now making noises about a potential strike notice tomorrow, which would mean they'd be out on strike effective Saturday (for those of you not in Toronto, they've promised to give 48 hours' notice before they actually go out on strike). They did this Thursday of last week, too, but just turned the press conference into a bitch session.

If they go out on strike, that means no buses, no streetcars and no subway service, and Mayhem needs a plan B (and a Plan C just-in-case). On the one hand: I need to rent a car on Saturday to go to a swim in Newmarket. They will instantly become scarcer than hen's teeth as another 100,000 try to rent vehicles as well. On the other: I'm coming back from an out-of-town bookkeeping job Saturday morning. The bus can let me off at Union Station, from which I can catch a GO commuter train to Danforth GO station. My home is walkable from there, as is Enterprise Rent-A-wreck-car.

That also means I have to talk to Enterprise and get a rental wreck confirmed like immediately.

Either that, or I need to bum a ride from someone to Newmarket... AARRRGGG >_<
(Anybody with a car want to go swimming on Saturday night? I'll pay for gas and the $10 entry fee!!)

The only consolation: everyone else who lives and/or works in the City of Toronto will be in the same situation.

TTC == Take The Car.

I'd love to help you out, but unfortunately I'm working this weekend. Otherwise I wouldn't have minded a swim :)
