Missteps

1) Received an e-mail this morning from Mandriva. The top half was in French, and the lower half was in English. (I almost forwarded it to my sister and brother-in-law for translation, but finally found the halfway mark. It was a verbose e-mail.) In case you're wondering, it's about the latest Flash version of Mandriva Linux - just plug in the flash drive, reboot your computer and presto!, you're running Linux.

"Declined"? Wha???
(And "successfull" is copied directly from the original e-mail.)


2) Man drunk at own DUI trial. The headline says it all. The judge was so (negatively) impressed by the man's behaviour, he recused himself from the next trial, lest he give the accused a solid reason for appeal: "Prejudiced against the accused".


3) Dear Mayor Miller: This is the kind of example I'd like you to set. Huntington mayor still opposes his own pay raise.


4) There are places where couples looking for a thrill can engage in public sex, and probably get away with it. And then there are places where couples shouldn't, because they won't. Get away with it, I mean.
