You make me feel like dancin'!!
Jun. 25th, 2008 10:12 amSome mobile phone provider in Britain has a new charging device that works by dancing. You dance, you also charge your cell phone. I don't know whether to be amused or annoyed.
Nature Who's Who: We have lots of critters around my place. Red-tailed hawks, rock doves, sparrows by the squadron, and two of note: Raccoons and skunks.
First, the skunk story: I'm sitting in my apartment (4th floor) and the unmistakable aroma of Eau de Skunk wafts up from the podium deck. They like to check the grass for grubs.
Suddenly the sprinklers turn on, and both at the same time and just as suddenly the smell of skunk increases noticeably.
Second: I'm heading home from the kittycat birthday party on Saturday Mark and
kats_kradle's. It's quite late; every shop is closed, the restaurant has just two people in it, the cook and the waitress, who are cleaning up and cashing out.
As I approach the Health Club, I note that I'm not alone. Someone is rummaging through the trash in the trash can. Someone with a bandit mask.
Someone large. Someone not human.
Yep, a raccoon. Big sucker.
He didn't react as I walked within six feet of him. I hugged my side of the walkway, by the medical clinic, and he was happy with that.
Welcome to Raccoon City.
