I got another phishing spam, from someone pretending to be TD Canada Trust. It was fairly well done, too.

Do NOT respond to any e-mail from your bank that asks you to log into your account via a link they've kindly provided. It's not real; no real bank will ever ask you to do this.

TD Canada Trust has been notified; I've also forwarded the e-mail (their response gave me the e-mail to send it to, which is fortunate because I couldn't find it on their website!).

No matter how well done the phish looks, one way they can't fool you is by doing a Source check. View the message in its original text format to see the HTML tags, and find out where the HREF of the link they provide is *really* pointing to. (e.g. in Gmail, click the drop-down arrow next to Reply and select Show Original to save/open it) Usually their text link says "bank.com" but the HREF will be something like "bank.com.____________.phisher's-site.com"
