Parental Update
Sep. 3rd, 2008 09:42 amDad had a visit to see a doctor yesterday.
Doctor A who did Dad's neck surgery hauls the oncologist who last saw Dad (let's call him Doc B) into examining room next to Dad's - Doc A is unimpressed, lets Doctor B know EXACTLY WHY in excruciating detail and impressive volume. Goes back into Dad's examining room and offers Dad another, last round of radiation in an effort to slow (not stop, I note, merely slow) the progress of his cancer, a course of treatment that "Go home and live out your last months" Doctor B had denied Dad.
Doctor A is still not out of the woods yet in terms of my opinion of him - he's the turkey who should have done the full body scans three years back - but at least he hasn't completely given up hope. I'll take a few more months, or whatever Doctor A can give us, with Dad.
