lordshipmayhemWilf offered to treat me to Mamma Mia (in return for favours rendered), at the Silver City at Yonge-Eglinton Centre. The story is light, light, LIGHT fluff, but you can tell the cast enjoyed themselves filming it. Meryl Streep is a joy, and Amanda Seyfried, who played Meryl's daughter Sophie, is just too cute for words (and although she's actually 23 and her character is 20, she looks 16 - too young to be getting married, dammit!). Quite enjoyable, especially if you enjoyed ABBA music.
After the movie, Wilf bought $50 worth of white tiger plushie (complete with cub) for his school's kindergarten - their old lion apparently had a most unfortunate run-in with a floor cleaning machine over the summer, and there's little on the planet that smells worse, or spreads that smell more widely, than Wet Mouldering Plushie. We brought the silly thing in with us to the Pickle Barrel, where she was the hit of the staff. The tiger paid for its meal on MasterClaw. ^_^
Brother-in-law is showing off his new truck over in Oshawa right now - work decided it needed him available 24/7, so he gets a brand-new truck. And a raise. And a couple of other juicy little benefits. I feel much better about the two of them, things are going well.
Enough for now. Time for bed.
