Rough day...
Sep. 23rd, 2008 05:36 pmDad was taken into hospital by ambulance today: no sense of balance. He couldn't get out of bed, couldn't even sit up.
His minister and his minister's wife were great, staying with Dad and Margaret through much of this morning, then making the calls to me and my sisters to keep us apprised. Unfortunately for me, I was in a client's office with no cell phone service (it's in a basement), so I found out when I checked my voice mail at lunch... and I took lunch about 2:45.
The fear, of course, is that this is not so much an inner ear infection or something, but rather the Big "C" manifesting itself in yet another more terrifyingly "interesting" way. I'll know more if/when I can actually get in touch with somebody, but understandably Margaret's phone line is tied up tighter than a log jam on the Kennebec.
Dammit, why does this have to happen to the ones we love?
