More on the WMF (or WTF) Vulnerability

For those of my friends who either (a) don't read Megatokyo or (b) don't read the authors' rants at the bottom of the page, today would be a very "fun" day to do so. Dom got hit. Suddenly, he had 315 trojans on his system: "[T]he last time that many trojans were in the same place at the same time, Greeks were pouring out of a pinata and stabbing the lot of them."

By the way, I'm told that the patch to prevent this nonsense is only for XP and 2003 systems, I'm not sure about 2000. Anything older than that, you are on your own.

The scariest thing: He was surfing in FireFox, not in Exploder, but Exploder still gave that magical little "aren't I just so special!" chime of happily having loaded something that Microsoft was so sure you'd just love. Yeah, Exploder's special all right - rides the short school bus with the rest of the special kids.

After Microsoft announced that they were releasing the patch earlier than expected, I received a Patch for my Windows 2000 system. Just so you know. :)
