New work records
Mar. 4th, 2006 12:43 amThe past 7 days, I clocked 72 hours. That also means that in the past two weeks, I've had precisely one day (a Saturday, if memory serves) where I didn't go into work: and that was a Gathering.
I'm beyond zoned, but the end IS in sight. The statements should be off to the auditor after this weekend's work.
And yes, I'm being paid - and paid well - by the hour.

Today is the second anniversary (OK, yesterday, I note it's after midnight) of my mother's passing. Dad still hasn't completely gotten over it, but he's functioning. I'm as over it as I'm likely to get: I miss her, but I realized long ago she's at peace now.
***
Wilf is still much a basket case over losing his beloved feline, Elsa, but a good part of that is the realization that his last living link to his parents has gone. I never met his dad, and I don't think Mike and Marion did either, and none of us are part of his household. He's feeling adrift.

Thursday, the two head honchos go out to a dinner with members of the investment analyst community. Normally Jason's in at 6:00, and the #2 man Paul is in before 8:00. Paul arrives, hung over as anything, at 9:30. Jason, looking distinctly casual (he usually wears fancy shirts, suits and ties - today, a collarless shirt and uncombed hair) arrives at about 1:30. We ribbed both of them unmercifully. We ordered Chinese food for lunch, and Paul graciously suggests the best entree for him: water, cold and filtered. ^_^

Good night folks. Tomorrow comes early - and so does Sumomo's monthly nail trim.
